Get Ready With Me!: Bronzy Eyes + Announcements

Hi my loves!

I worked hard for today's post because I wanted to deliver something helpful since I will be away for a few weeks. I'm going to the US for vacation before I start school in May. Oh, and my youngest brother is getting married in Puerto Rico! I'm so excited! I will take lots of pictures, so you are all coming with me!

I also might... Well, I'm bad at surprises! I will have a giveaway when I'm in the US. Everything in Venezuela is ridiculously expensive because we have really high inflation, which is why I hardly buy anything here and I would not be able to afford a giveaway. But let's not get political here, because I hate politics and this is a beauty blog. In conclusion, I will work on getting goodies for a good giveaway to thank all of you for supporting me though I'm a "newbie". I have a lot of things I would like to get off my chest by writing a post about it but I worry I might get corny and you might get bored... but I really am thankful to all of you.

If you want to see my Pictorial, keep reading!

First of all, I dyed my hair last week, in case you hadn't noticed. I must say I'm very happy with the results. I have natural dark brown hair but it can be boring sometimes, which is why I started getting highlights in high school. Honey-toned. But I think I was ready for this change. It's like a dark honey base with soft, golden highlights.

And yes, that is my natural hair. I just let it air dry.

Enough rambling of mine, onto makeup! I'm flipping around the folder from my Nikon Camera and my Phone Storage because I took some pics with the professional one and others with my phone, which is why some sizes will appear to be different than others. Also, I took these pictures around 5pm and it took me about an hour and a half to get everything organized (I have no one to help me!), so I had some sunset coming in, thus the change in lighting.

The Product List

1. Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream shade 15
2. Kat Von D Ludwig Palette
3. L'oreal Liner Intense in Black
4. Benefit They're Real Mascara
5. Clinique Super Fine Liner for Brows shade Soft Brown
6. Dior Airflash Foundation shade Medium 300
7. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Concealer shade 08 Warm Light Medium
8. Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Golden Mosaic
9. Bourjois Lipstick shade 47 Rose Pare
10. Real Techniques Brushes: Buffing, Base Shadow and Blush Brush
11. Lorac Perfectly Lit Luminizer in the shade Spotlight (optional)

I only used these three brushes for the entire look. I wanted to keep it minimal because I know not everyone has tons of brushes.

All are by Real Techniques. From left to right: Buffing Brush, Base Shadow Brush, Blush Brush

So basically I had done all of my makeup for a family reunion, and then I wiped off half of my face to do this pictorial for you. Hence, the redness on my face.

Using my Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush - which by the way, is fantastic to apply cream shadows because it is synthetic - I applied the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream in the shade 15, which is a taupe with brown shimmer.

A cheaper alternative would be to use a Maybelline Color Tattoo as a base.

Voila! Then I went on using Kat Von D's Ludwig Palette, dipping the same Base Shadow Brush on the lightest shade from the palette called "Tequila". I applied this all over the lid.

You can use any palette that you have with neutral shades.

Using the same brush, I now dipped it into the shade "Baroque" - a shimmery coppery brown. I applied this to the crease of the eye.

WOWZA! Sorry for such a sexy shot of my eye. I just couldn't help it. Hehe.

Moving on to "Leather" from the same palette, using the same brush, I applied it to the outer corner of my eye.

To add some dimension to the eye, grab a Q-tip and dab it on the shade "Clay" and lay it over the center of the lid. Blend with your finger.

This is my trick to clean up the area around the eye when you're blending: Grab a Q-Tip and some Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Water. That's it.

Use the other side of the Q-tip (clean side) to dip it into the Bioderma.

The same tip can be used to clean up any fall out from the eyeshadows. (Like the fall out on the picture below). This can also be your time to fill in your brows if you have to.

Now it's LINER time. And I KNOW! I'm NOT using Gel Liner! I actually like this liquid liner a lot because it's very easy to use. It has a flexible wand which makes it easy to get a precise line. The formula is non-drying and long-lasting on the lids. A+, L'oreal.

Next step is to curl the lashes and apply mascara. I'm using a very, very old eye lash curler I have. It's time to get a new one.

Next step is to perfect the skin.

Here comes the blooper of the day. I'm sitting on a chair doing my makeup while taking pictures of the process, and I was somehow trying to splash the Dior foundation onto the Real Techniques Buffing Brush which was held on between my legs. The results? This:

Anyway, this is how I apply the Dior Airflash Foundation. Yes, it is meant to be sprayed like an airbrush, but I find that:
1. You end up wasting too much product as most of it disappears into the air.
2. You get less patchy-looking makeup when applying it with a brush.

But then again, this is just me

Next step would be to cover dark circles.

Blend with fingers and then apply some blush or bronzer.

Final step: The lips! I went with a beautiful, pink with gold shimmer called "Rose Pare" by Bourjois.
I added a touch of luminizer on the center of my bottom lip to give the illusion of a fuller lip.

Lorac Perfectly Lit Luminizer in the shade Spotlight

Please excuse my chipped mani.

The Final Results

I hope you enjoyed this pictorial. A girl once wrote to me saying that it was more helpful to see pictures than pause videos every now and then to follow the steps. I hope you all have a wonderful long-weekend. Much warm, Venezuelan love to all of you. xx
