Current Skincare

You know me - I love skincare. I spend more money on it than on makeup, now that I think about it. Though it is an investment, skincare is something I am strongly passionate about. I've received some positive feedback lately in the skincare department, so I decided to walk you through each of the products I use. Some I rotate, others I use everyday. This is a long video, so grab a snack and lay down. Hope you enjoy.

    1. Hi Birva! A couple of questions - are they still active breakouts or just dark spots? Also, where do you live? The reformulated Effaclar Duo (+) is one to read about if you're in Europe. Xo

    3. :) I love helping others. Ok ... hmmm.. even though Effaclar (+) hasn't gotten to the US yet (I think) and the regular Effaclar is formulated different than the one in Europe, it's still efficient in targeting breakouts (because it has benzoyl peroxide) and you can use it as a spot treatment..

If you could please let me know about your current skincare regimen, skin type (sensitive, oily, dehydrated, etc) it'd be helpful so I could recommend some products based on it.

    5. Ok, good, you're not stripping your skin :) Is it sensitive? I got an e-mail today from the Kate Somerville newsletter on how they have a new product out called HydraClear Hydrating Acne Gel:

Kate has extremely great reviews. I also suggest you read this post so you know if you really have acne prone skin or just occasional breakouts:

  4. Thanks for sharing! Just wondering if you use any toners or does the Blue Plasma act as one?

    1. Thank YOU for watching and stopping by! The Blue Plasma isn't a toner. I don't use a toner. I have an in depth review on the Blue Plasma if you're interested... just type "blue plasma" on the top left corner (search box). Xo

  5. Patty! I am doing a skincare overhaul and was watching this for ideas/ inspiration. I am trying to take my skincare routine more seriously and finally move away from drugstore products. I usually just wash and then moisturize but it sounds like there's so much more. What is the order I should be using the products? Wash, serum, eye cream, moisturize? When does sunscreen get applied?? So confusing! Help!!

    1. Hola Mari!!! Me puedes contactar cuando quieras personalmente. So you don't necessarily need so many things. I just use a lot of skincare because I love it. You need a) a cleanser suitable for your skin type. There are several types -- milks, creams, foaming, balms. You also need b) a moisturizer. If you're using one without SPF, that can work as your night cream too. You do not need a day cream and a separate night cream, though marketing states otherwise. You also need an SPF. Those are the three basic things you need. There are other things like serums and toners but those are optional. Serums are very potent and concentrated products that are usually pricier than moisturizers because they do a lot more, however you do not need one. Skincare is very subjective. I guess the good thing is that because you're in the US you can go to several counters you're interested in and ask for samples -- try them before committing to a full size. See how your skin reacts. If you need more help, we can always talk. You can e-mail me to makeupbypatriciablog@gmail.com and I'll give you my number there. Hugs!

  6. Hi Patricia, what are your thoughts on the seaberry oil vs. the josie maran argan oil to moisturize the face? Thanks!

    1. Hi Surleen! I've never tried the Josie Maran Argan Oil, so I can't respond to this.
